Tuolainanshan Gr
Type Locality and Naming
NW Gansu-south Qinghai border region (middle Qilian). The Tuolainanshan Gr was named by the No. 2 Party of Regional Geological Survey, Gansu Bureau of Geology in1974. The typical section is at Wugeshanhe- Wahusi Temple, Tulai Nanshan Mt., Gansu Province.

Lithology and Thickness
The Tuolainanshan Gr is an extremely thick series of littoral clastic and neritic carbonate rock. It consists of the Nanbaishuihe Fm and Hua'erdi Fm in ascending order. [See entries for those formations for details.] The total thickness varies from 976 m to 4752 m.
Relationships and Distribution
Lower contact
The lower boundary is unknown, but in regional scope it overlaps unconformably on different stratigraphic units, namely on the Aoyougou Fm and on the Huashugou Fm of Zhulongguan Gr from southeast to northwest direction..
Upper contact
Disconformably overlain by the Qitadaban Fm of lower Qingbaikouan.
Regional extent
NW Gansu-south Qinghai border region (middle Qilian). The group is widely distributed at Tulai Nanshan Mt., Shule-nanshan Mt., Daxue Mt., Yemananshan Mt., in central sector of Qilian Mts., as well as in east sector of Altun Mts.
